Ms. Perez, 6th math/science teacher, gave me some info to get out to parents
of girls 6th-8th grade.
"Expanding Your Horizons in Science & Mathematics" a conference for 6-8th grade girls
to learn about careers in mathematics and science. Will be held
at SFSU on Sat. Nov. 4, 8:30-2:45. www.expandingyourhorizons.org
It is $10 per person (scholarships available) and includes conference,
lunch, t-shirt, bag, etc. Parents can attend 2 different presentations. One
is financing college and I forgot the other one.
There is a release form each girl need to complete. There is a bus stopping
at Everett at 7:45am and Horace Mann at 8am if our girls want to ride it or
they can go to State directly or we can carpool from Lick.
We just need someone to coordinate getting our group together and take the
lead. We do need a couple of chaperones for our group as well. Let me know
if you are interested in helping with this.
